Dynamic Strategies taken by India to Curb Pandemic Covid-19

Recent data on the World Meter has revealed that more than 55,000 people have tested Coronavirus in India. 


The deadly epidemic has caused devastating effect, killing 1,985 people. In view of this emergency, several states have extended the lock down until May 29.


Fighting Covid-19 disease has become a challenge for the Indian government as it lacks adequate resources in the healthcare sector. 


India is ready with smart initiatives and strategies to deal with the critical situation logically.

Meanwhile, the Philanthropic works have been going on by the foundations, Eminent Individuals and by other groups they lend their hand in providing food for the Daily labourers and poor people.  


Keeping in mind the minimum healthcare Infrastructure the India possesses. 


Indian Railways is contributing by converting 5000 coaches into 80,000-bed well-equipped isolation wards. 


It is a commendable initiative by India to provide optimal treatment facilities to an ever increasing number of victims. 


Indian Railways as Covid 19 Isolation Coaches


This effort is for rural populations living in remote areas who do not have adequate access to hospital beds. These coaches have been developed to facilitate Level 1 care. 


Each coach will have the capacity to seat 16 patients. It is targeted to produce 20,000 coaches to offer different types of facilities for the ward.


The Mahindra Group of Industries has decided to convert its holiday resorts into temporary care centers for coronavirus patients. 


This noble initiative will provide compensatory infrastructure in this fight against the virus as the load of the patient may skyrocket in the near future.


Vaccine Development Enterprise, Indian scientists are on their way to find a vaccine against the deadly coronavirus. 


According to experts, biotechnology research in India is comparable to international advances about the corona vaccine, except that testing in animals is concerned. 


A research firm based in Hyderabad in collaboration with Griffith University in Australia has developed a vaccine that will enable vaccination against the virus. 


Another firm in Pune, Seagull Biosolutions, is experimenting to produce an effective coronavirus vaccine. 


The good news is that the first phase of the vaccine is due in the next 18 months. The firm is also designing diagnostic kits for home use that can also detect asymptomatic carriers.


To provide adequate quantities of medical equipment such as PPE (Personal Protective Equipments), ventilators and masks, the government has come up with efficient schemes. 


Production companies have increased their manufacturing by working overtime. 


Additionally, automobile industries have also moved to generate basic ventilators from spare parts such as pumps. 


Companies like Mahindra, Bharat Electronics Limited and Maruti Suzuki have been allotted orders to manufacture ventilators.


India has also ordered a large number of ventilators from foreign companies like Mindre, Hamilton to fight the situation.


PPE is important for health care workers when working with patients with Corona. 


The Ministry of Textiles is collaborating with Indian manufacturers to produce around 21 lakh PPE to supply adequate kits to hospitals. Quality checks have been done for these companies so far. 


Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)


India has purchased 10,000 PPE from China. 


The Ministry of External Affairs has tied up with companies for the supply of PPE in Korea and Singapore.


These innovative solutions and measures taken by India have given India an advantage among other countries in controlling this coronavirus epidemic.
